FAMILY FUN DAY: MAKE A MOVIE is a special event for members of the foster youth community. Create your own mini-movie! Our friends at Hollywood Shorts will provide the equipment, props and Hollywood pros to help you make your own short movie. Scripts, green screens, cameras, lights and sound will help you recreate famous scenes from American cinema. This free event is perfect for the whole family! All ages and skill levels are welcome. Come early to sign up for your mini-movie film shoot. Other activities include:
Film Festival: Kid-friendly films from around the world will be screened in the Community Room, curated by Hollywood Shorts.
Music: DJ E.L. and DJ Price Tag, graduates from Los Angeles County Library’s Turns the Tables series will spin tunes.
MākMō: Get your STEAM on with hands-on activities designed to inspire young brains.
Crafts: Little ones can make their own zines with creative craft activities provided by Go As If.
StoryCorps: Share and record your foster family’s story and upload it to our online community website.
Plus: Continental breakfast and light snacks will be provided.
