Cynthia McCoy Miller is a Senior Deputy Director with the County of Los Angeles, Department of Children and Family Services and has administrative oversight for the Department’s Mega Bureau. In this capacity, Mrs. McCoy Miller oversees the multiple operations and bureaus, including the Contracts Services Bureau, responsible for developing and monitoring of DCFS’ approximate 420 contracts, totaling more than $600 million; Finance and Administrative Services and the administration and management of an annual budget of more than $2 billion; Human Resources which provides services for 9,000 employees; Revenue Enhancement Division responsible for determining eligibility for the 35,000 children receiving services; and the Business Information Systems Division, responsible for the procurement, development and management of more than 60 web-based and client-server application systems and business intelligence reporting systems.
As the Senior Deputy Director of the DCFS Mega Bureau, Mrs. McCoy Miller is committed to its goal to identify, develop and allocate resources and revenue sources to support the achievement of our Department’s mission, which is to promote child safety and well-being by partnering with communities to strengthen families, keeping children at home whenever possible, and connecting them with stable, loving homes in times of need.
Mrs. McCoy Miller has been employed with Los Angeles County since 1980.
Mrs. McCoy Miller received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 1996; her Bachelor of Social Work from Cal-State Poly Pomona in 1992; and her AA in Social Work from Los Angeles Southwest College in 1987.
