The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, ancestry, national origin, ethnic group identification, age, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, domestic partnership, political affiliation, citizenship, primary language, immigration status, or genetic information.
It is the policy of DCFS to provide all persons with equal treatment when receiving services.
The Your Rights Under California Public Benefits (PUB 13) pamphlet explains individuals’ rights to receive equal benefits and services, how to request language assistance or a reasonable accommodation for a disability and how to file a discrimination complaint.
If you believe that you have been discriminated against because of race, color, ancestry, national origin, ethnic group identification, age, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, domestic partnership, political affiliation, citizenship, primary language, immigration status, genetic information and/or retaliated against for engaging in a protected activity, you have the right to file a discrimination/retaliation complaint in writing, verbally, in person, and/or anonymously.

What Happens After Filing a Complaint
All complaints are evaluated and individuals may be contacted for more information. Following the complaint evaluation and/or investigation, complainants will be notified of a decision.
