Navigating Reunification is a free three-part online workshop series for Los Angeles County parents and caregivers working toward reunification with their children.

The series offers practical information, tools, and strategies that families can use between court dates, appointments, services, and difficult conversations.

Each workshop is a 90-minute Zoom session that includes a presentation, practical guidance, and time for questions. Participants may attend any or all three workshops, and one free registration covers the full series.

✨ AUGUST 6 – FINDING CLARITY IN THE PROCESS

Presented by the Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers legal education team:

Prepare for meetings, better understand professional roles, identify useful questions, document follow-up, and recognize when to contact an attorney or assigned professional.

💼 AUGUST 10 – BUILDING STRUCTURE AND STABILITY

Presented by Maura A. Byron, MEd, Executive Director of Family Support Network.

Develop practical systems for managing appointments, court dates, paperwork, services, responsibilities, and barriers. The workshop will focus on creating routines and organizational tools that can reduce confusion and help caregivers keep track of competing demands.

🧑‍🧒‍🧒 AUGUST 13 – STRENGTHENING CHILD-FOCUSED COMMUNICATION AND CONNECTION

Presented by Ki Yan Ip, MA, Project Lead for Navigating Reunification.

Explore ways to manage stress, respond to children’s emotional and developmental needs, communicate during difficult moments, and maintain connection during uncertainty and separation.

• All sessions take place from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Pacific on Zoom.
• Each session is 90 minutes.
• Participants may attend any or all three workshops.

• A certificate of attendance may be requested after attending a session.
• Live workshops are presented in English.
• A Spanish-language toolkit and selected translated resources will be available after the series.
