Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger welcomed hundreds of children and families on Saturday as she hosted her annual Foster Youth Holiday Celebration at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
The long-standing event welcomed approximately 600 children in foster care and their caregivers, providing a festive day filled with rides, entertainment, meals, and a large toy giveaway, according to a news release from Barger’s office.
“Every child deserves to experience the magic and warmth of the holiday season, especially those in our foster care system,” Barger said in the release. “This annual celebration is about creating joyful moments, easing stress for families, and reminding our foster youth that they are valued and deeply cared for by our community.”
