On Saturday, September 8th from 10 am to 3 pm, Los Angeles County foster youth will enjoy a day of fun and festivities while acquiring invaluable resources for a brighter future at the 3 D (Dedication, Determination, Drive) Youth Jam—End of Summer Family Fun Day at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area.
The event is designed to strengthen and promote the determination and dedication of foster youth by putting them in the driver’s seat as they transition out of foster care. The resource fair features dozens of community vendors providing information to the youth on higher education, employment, housing and other needed resources. Speakers, food, music, games, activities, prizes and giveaways, will make this an interactive day of wellness for foster youth.
The 3D Youth Jam is a collaboration between Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, as well as a host of community partners.
